Product Description
The Phoenix Contact SAC-4P-M12MS/2,0-PUR/M12FS sensor/actuator cable (Item No. 1693571) is a premium, industrial-grade connection solution designed for reliable signal transmission in demanding automation environments. With a 4-position (4-pole) A-coded straight M12 male plug on one end and a matching straight M12 female socket on the other, this 2 metre long cable provides seamless integration between sensors, actuators and control systems.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Cushioned for reliability: The cable is manufactured with a halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) jacket, providing excellent flexibility and durability — capable of dynamic installation, drag-chain movement and frequent operator handling.

  • Robust connector design: Both ends of the cable use M12 A-coded connectors (male plug / female socket) which adhere to IEC 61076-2-101 standards, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of industrial sensors and actuators.

  • Elevated protection: The assembled connector system offers IP65, IP67 and IP68 protection ratings, safeguarding against dust ingress and water immersion — making it well suited for harsh factory or outdoor automation settings.

  • Reliable electrical and mechanical performance: It supports a nominal voltage of 250 V AC/DC and a nominal current of 4 A. The plug/socket design is rated for at least 100 insertion/withdrawal cycles.

  • Engineered for longevity: The cable assembly offers excellent mechanical endurance — e.g., in dynamic use it supports up to 10 million bending cycles and ≥ 2 million torsion cycles under specified conditions.

  • Unsurpassed cable construction: With conductors of 4 × 0.34 mm² cross-section (AWG 22), unshielded design, outer diameter ~4.20 mm, and fully halogen-free jacket in black-grey RAL 7021. It meets flame resistance, hydrolysis resistance, oil and solvent resistance and even partial UV-resistance for extended service life.

Typical Applications
Ideal for industrial automation installations:

  • Connecting sensors and actuators in assembly lines and machine tools

  • Conveyors, robotics, packaging equipment, and factory-automation control panels

  • Environments with high mechanical stress (movement, bending, torsion) or exposure to oil, solvents, humidity or dust

  • Retrofit or new-install systems where reliable M12 A-coded connectivity is required

Why Choose This Cable?
For any automation or control-system installer, the right sensor-/actuator cabling can make the difference between reliable uptime and costly downtime. This Phoenix Contact unit gives you:

  • Plug-and-play compatibility with most M12 sensor/actuator modules thanks to A-coding

  • A tough PUR jacket that resists abrasion, oil, solvents, UV exposure, hydrolysis and microbe attack

  • A complete assembly ready to install (2 m length) — no need to build your own cable, saving time and reducing error risk

  • High quality, “100 % electrically tested” plug-in components for safe, dependable connections.

Installation & Use Tips

  • Ensure both mating units are A-coded M12 connectors for compatibility.

  • Allow sufficient bend radius when routing this cable: in flexible installations, minimum bend radius is 10 × outer diameter (≈ 42 mm) under dynamic conditions.

  • Make sure connections are tightened to the recommended torque of 0.4 Nm for the M12 connectors.

  • While the cable is highly abrasion- and oil-resistant, avoid continuous dragging across extremely sharp edges unless routed through protective conduits.

  • Check that your installation environment meets the cable ambient temperature and protection class requirements — especially if used in outdoor or wash-down conditions.

  • For procurement: the item is manufactured in Germany, item number 1693571.
