The Phoenix Contact VAL-MS-EE-T2-3+1-385 (Part No. 2910559) is a Type 2 surge protection device (SPD) designed to safeguard electrical installations from transient overvoltage events caused by lightning strikes, switching operations, and grid disturbances. It’s engineered for 230 V AC three-phase systems with separate neutral (3 + 1 circuit), providing coordinated protection across L-N, L-PE and N-PE modes of operation.

This surge arrester installs easily on NS 35/7.5 DIN rail and consists of a base element and integrated protective connectors. It meets IEC Type 2/Class II surge protection classification and offers fast response times (≤ 25–100 ns) to divert surge energy away from sensitive equipment. With robust construction and high discharge capability, it is ideal for industrial control panels, distribution boards, and facility power systems requiring reliable transient overvoltage mitigation.
